CHEMICAL PEELS

What is chemical Peeling?

Chemical peeling is a skin treatment that targets various layers to achieve smooth and radiant skin. In Jaipur, we provide Chemical Peel treatments that enhance skin cell turnover, eliminating dull, blemished, and wrinkled outer layers to unveil fresher, younger-looking skin underneath. This treatment is suitable for the face, neck, chest, back, hands, and even arms and legs.

How does chemical Peel work?

Chemical peels come in the form of gels or solutions and are applied to the skin. They prompt the shedding of dead skin cells, leading to their eventual peeling. This process reveals new skin with enhanced tone and texture. Additionally, certain peels target pigment formation pathways, reducing pigmentation concerns.

How can a chemical peel help improve my skin?

Peels effectively address the following conditions to reveal healthy, hydrated, smoother, and younger-looking skin:

  • Diminish or eliminate different types of pigmentation such as melasma, freckles, age spots, suntan, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH), and lentigines.
  • Reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Enhance the tone and texture of dull and rough skin.
  • Minimize acne and acne marks.
  • Address the effects of sun damage and keratosis skin lesions.
How many types of peels are there?

There is a diverse range of peeling agents available, categorized based on their chemical composition, strength, and depth of penetration. Commonly used peels for Indian skin include Glycolic acid, Salicylic acid, Lactic acid, and TCA peels. The same peel, when used in varying concentrations, can penetrate different depths of the skin.

What is light or deep peels?

Light chemical peels target the superficial layers of the skin and generally require minimal downtime. They involve lower concentrations of glycolic acid, salicylic acid, fruit enzyme peels, or lower concentrations of TCA peels.

Deeper peels penetrate both the epidermis and dermis and are used to treat conditions that involve changes in dermal collagen, such as deep wrinkles, acne scars, or sun damage. These peels include phenol peels or higher concentrations of TCA peels.

Medium peels fall between the depth of light and deep peels, targeting a middle level of the skin.

What can I expect after the treatment?

Recovery after a peel can vary depending on its type, ranging from minimal with no noticeable exfoliation to experiencing mild redness and exfoliation for a few days. Patients typically notice improved skin tone, texture, and increased firmness after each treatment. It's important to apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen after the procedure and between treatments. Follow the recommended skincare regimen provided by your doctor for optimal results.
