MICRONEEDLING RADIOFREQUENCY TREATMENT

What is microneedling radiofrequency treatment ?

Microneedling Radiofrequency (MNRF) is a procedure that merges the advantages of Microneedling and Radiofrequency (thermal energy) to stimulate collagen remodeling. This process aids in enhancing skin texture and tightening.

What are the indications of MNRF treatment?

It is used to improve the appearance of following:

  • Scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Open pores
  • Fine lines
  • Wrinkles
  • Skin sagging
How does MNRF work?

As the name implies, this procedure combines Microneedling and Radiofrequency (RF). During the treatment, tiny microneedles (smaller in diameter than hair) glide over your skin, delivering RF energy deep into the skin. This dual process stimulates collagen induction in two ways:

Collagen induction through Microneedling: Microneedling creates small channels of micro-injuries in the skin tissue. This triggers the body's natural wound healing response, leading to repair and remodeling of collagen.

Collagen induction through Radiofrequency: The RF energy creates fractional heat zones deep within the skin, leaving normal tissues in between unaffected. This heat stimulates collagen synthesis and tightening, without affecting the skin's surface.

What happens during the procedure?

Before the procedure, a numbing cream is applied to the treatment area for 30-45 minutes to ensure your comfort. During the treatment, the RF energy is administered carefully, with settings tailored to your skin type and condition. You might experience a mild pinching sensation. The entire procedure typically lasts 30-40 minutes.

What do I expect after the procedure?

Since it's a minimally invasive procedure, you might notice some redness, swelling, and mild discomfort after the treatment. These effects typically fade away completely within 2-3 days. In certain instances, you may observe scab formation, which typically heals within 3-7 days.

What about the post care?

It's advised to practice rigorous sun protection following the procedure. Refrain from sun exposure for 2-3 days afterward and apply sunscreen as per your doctor's recommendation, even indoors. Avoid prolonged sun exposure for 10-15 days post-procedure and consult your doctor before undergoing any other aesthetic procedures.

When will I see the visible results?

This depends on what is being treated. Generally multiple sessions are required and are spaced a month apart. Results are visible as follows:

  • Textural smoothening: 2 weeks
  • Fine lines and wrinkles: After 3-4 sessions
  • Acne scars: After 6-8 sessions
  • Stretch marks: 8-10 sessions
Is MNRF treatment safe for dark skin?

Yes, for individuals with dark or tanned skin, this treatment is safer than laser skin resurfacing because melanin in the skin does not impact the safety and effectiveness of the procedure.
